annual Women’s History Month Celebration,
C. Morrison
Presents…”Celebrating Women of Color…” A Tribute To Rosa Parks &
Coretta Scott King,
Wednesday, March 1, 2006, 6pm-8pm
at Barnes & Noble Booksellers at Camp Creek Pkwy. 3685 Market Place
Blvd., Atlanta/East Point, Georgia. The event is free and open to
the public.
“This year we
are doing a tribute in honor of two civil rights icons that have
made a difference in the lives of many,” says Carla Morrison, Event
Producer. “And we are so privileged to have the 1st
African American State Representative of Cobb County, as our keynote
speaker.” The enriching program which includes: poetry, author
readings, music, food, fun and more, was developed to inspire,
educate, entertain and celebrate women and their families. State
Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan is the keynote speaker, with
poetry readings by Ashton Fortune, Brenda M. Tillman & Kaleem
Shakir. Musical performances by Ericka Smith &
Ignysh’n, with a special appearance by, Ms. Black Georgia
USA, Tiffany Willis.
“Since
this event is a community program, Barnes & Noble offered to donate
a percentage of profits made from any book sales that day to the two
non profit organizations of my choice,” said Morrison. And Morrison
chooses Sista For Sisters Foundation and National
Coalition of 100 Black Women of Northwest Georgia.
